Russian

fairy tales

There was once a time when Russians created oral stories that were passed down from generation to generation. Listening to fairy tales was a favorite pastime not only for children, but also for adults, who gathered in the evenings to listen to a good story. These stories were folk tales inspired by everyday life, fables about fantastic animals and monsters that inhabited the forests, rivers and swamps, or fairy tales about princesses and princes. It was these tales that shaped Russian literature, causing the country's great writers and poets to write and adapt these tales so dear to the Russian people.

In this compilation, based on the collection by Aleksandr N. Afanasiev and translated directly from Russian, we bring some of the most famous Russian fairy tales for those who want to know a little more about Russian literature or those who want to embark on a fantastic journey towards mythical beings and fabulous journeys.
